A letter containing your new checking account numbers will be mailed to you in mid-May, 2023. You should start using your new account numbers on May 30, 2023, and you'll be able to view your new account numbers via mobile and online banking at this time.

Here’s what to expect:
Our goal is to make checking work for you. During your transition to U.S. Bank, here’s what you can look forward to:
- Before your account moves to U.S. Bank on Memorial Day weekend 2023, you'll receive a letter in the mail in mid-May 2023 containing your new account number. Please make sure to use your new account number starting May 30, 2023.
- You’ll receive a new U.S. Bank Debit and/or ATM Card with a new card number by July 15, 2023. Until then, continue using your current Union Bank Debit and/or ATM Card.
- Your existing direct deposits, bill pay and automatic payments will not be interrupted.
- Use your old checks until they’re gone. Reorder your checks through U.S. Bank and use your new U.S. Bank account number.

Deposits to your new accounts
After your account transitions, use your new U.S. Bank account number when you set up new payments or deposits. You can update all your existing accounts at your earliest convenience. We recommend you do that within 30 days.

Enjoy fee free access at U.S. Bank ATMs when you use your Union Bank Debit Card, ATM Card or Credit Card.
Please note, we're updating our ATMs to bring you an enhanced experience. During this time, you might only be able to access your primary checking and saving accounts. Enhancements will be completed May 30.
Answers to your questions about transitioning your checking accounts.
If you currently have a stop payment on your account for a check or ACH transaction, it will remain in effect as your accounts convert to U.S. Bank for the duration stated:
- Expiration date is before May 30, 2025 – stop payment date will remain the same
- Expiration date is after May 30, 2025 – stop payment will expire on May 30, 2025
- No expiration date – stop payment will expire on May 30, 2024
To cancel a stop payment, you can log into your account via the U.S. Bank Mobile App or online banking, at your local U.S. Bank branch, or by calling 24-hour banking at 800-USBANKS (872-2657).
If you have a stop payment on your Union Bank Debit Card, it will not be transferred to U.S. Bank. After receiving your new U.S. Bank Debit Card, please contact U.S. Bank to re-establish any stop payments that were set up with your Union Bank Debit Card.
You will be able to use your current Union Bank Debit and/or ATM Card – along with your existing Personal Identification Number (PIN) – through July 31, 2023 or whenever you choose to activate your new card.
Your Union Bank Debit and/or ATM Card will stop working on August 1, 2023 or when you activate your new U.S. Bank Debit and/or ATM Card, whichever comes first.
You’ll receive a new U.S. Bank Debit and/or ATM Card by July 15, 2023. If you have not received your new card by July 15, 2023, call 24-Hour banking at 800-USBANKS (872-2657).
After you receive your new card, be sure to:
- Activate and start using your new card for purchases right away.
- Verify any automatic payments have been updated with your new card information.
- Re-establish any stop payments that were set up with your Union Bank Debit Card.
- Save your new card into your digital wallet or favorite device.
No. Your PIN will not change. You will be able to use your existing PIN with your new U.S. Bank Debit Card and/or ATM Card.
Yes. While we expect that most automatic payments that were set up with your Union Bank Debit Card will automatically be updated with your new U.S. Bank Debit Card information (card number, expiration date and the 3-digit security code displayed on the back of your card) we recommend that you verify that all of your automatic payments were updated accordingly. Common automatic payments include utility companies and cell phone services.
No. After you receive your new U.S. Bank Debit Card, you will need to add it to your mobile wallet.
Please note your old Union Bank Debit Card will no longer work in your mobile wallet either after you activated your new U.S. Bank Debit Card or on August 1, 2023, whichever comes first.
Yes. You may continue to use your existing Union Bank checks and deposit slips until your supply runs out. You will be sent a letter in May 2023, with your new account number and instructions on how to order new U.S. Bank checks when you’re ready.
This does not apply to HELOC checks.
